Me Casa Es Su Casa
Painted wood
20 x 18 x 8 inches

When children learn to make marks with crayons and pencils and thoughts of a house enter their thinking they inevitably progress early on to render structures with slanted roofs and maybe doors, windows and a chimney. Me Casa focuses on the concept of the house as a safe haven, shelter and place of retreat and refuge. As in real life, the works as a group vary considerably in shape, size and appearance but lean away from the modern as well as the ancient to concentrate on the rustic and simple forms of primitive and early dwellings in American and around the world.
